Confidence in the Father

Do you doubt or lack confidence in worldly institutions, governments, financial markets, etc. ? As well you should! Our Identity as Believers and our source is God the Father. We must always remember that HE is our source!

“And, this, is the boldness which we have towards him: that, if, anything, we ask, according to his will, He doth hearken unto us. And, if we know that he doth hearken unto us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the things asked, which we have asked of him…” (1 John 5:14-15, Rotherham).

Prayer is the language of the Christian- not English, French, or German- but prayer. We must ask for those things that have been promised to us; however, as Adam Clarke suggests:

“The liberty of access and speech, that if we ask any thing according to his will, that is, which he has promised in his word. His word is a revelation of his will, in the things which concern the salvation of man. All that God has promised we are justified in expecting; and what he has promised, and we expect, we should pray for. Prayer is the language of the children of God. He who is begotten of God speaks this language. He calls God Abba, Father, in the true spirit of supplication. Prayer is the language of dependence on God; where the soul is dumb, there is neither life, love, nor faith. Faith and prayer are not boldly to advance claims upon God; we must take heed that what we ask and believe for is agreeable to the revealed will of God. What we find promised, that we may plead.”

Have confidence in your Father today and operate and reside in a Spirit of Gratitude for all that He has given us and will give us.

Carpe Diem!

Victory (Or, You Have Already Won!)

When you start your day, do you operate from the worldview that you have already won? Sure, there will be trials today. There will be circumstances that will cause you to doubt if you are making progress in any of your goals. However, if you call yourself a Christian, then you have the Victory.

“But, unto God, be thanks, who, ever, leadeth us in triumph in the Christ, and, the fragrance of the knowledge of him, maketh manifest, through us, in every place” (2 Corinthians 2:14, Rotherham).

Champions have a different vibe about them. When a Champion walks into the room, there is a certain air- a magnetism- that makes us all want what they have. As Christians, we should stand apart. We should be making people want what we have.

John Wesley had a great thought about this verse:

“To triumph, implies not only victory, but an open manifestation of it. And as in triumphal processions, especially in the east, incense and perfumes were burned near the conqueror, the apostle beautifully alludes to this circumstance in the following verse: as likewise to the different effects which strong perfumes have upon different persons; some of whom they revive…”

Today put on the perfume or cologne of a Victor, an Overcomer, a Champion. Why? Because that is who you are!

The Test of Righteousness

The beauty of the Christian Faith is that we can be reconciled to our God. We can be in right standing with our Creator. How awesome it is to operate from the knowledge that we are impeccably clean.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9 KJV).

Psychologically speaking, it is also healthy for us to confess our sins. It is cathartic. It purges our subconscious of those things that we think we are hiding from ourselves and from God.

As the great Biblical Commentator, Adam Clarke suggests: When we confess our sins, we strive to purify our hearts of sin.

Sin exists in the soul after two modes or forms:
(1.) In guilt, which requires forgiveness or pardon.
(2.) In pollution, which requires cleansing.

Psychological guilt does our psyche and physical health untold harm. Thanks be to Christ for paving the road of purification!

After we have been sanctified and made clean, how then should we live? What is the test to see if we are truly operating with a worldview of righteousness?

It is this: That we be imitators of Christ.

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin”(1 John 1:7, KJV).

In dealing with your spouse, your children, your co-workers, the random stranger on the street today; are you imitating Christ? That is the question and that is the test of righteousness.

Persevere like you are the 3rd monkey trying to get on the ark

It is easy to start something. It can be even easier to come up with an idea. The challenge however lies in the follow-through. Perseverance is a key that will unlock your success.

We all need to determine three things when our mission gets tough.

  1. What is our strategy?
  2. What is our story?
  3. What is our state?

If you have discerned the wisest strategy, you are telling yourself you can be successful, and you are in a positive state; then the only things left to do are to pray and persevere!

“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints” (Ephesians 6:18, KJV).

Know the Truth, Speak the Truth

“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth” (John 17:17 KJV).

Do you recognise truth when you hear it? In our day and age, it is very easy to distinguish when a politician is lying…his/ her lips are moving.

How about other words though? There is plenty of human understanding and knowledge out there. But is it true?

Ultimately, every word spoken and written must be measured against The Word which is the Truth.

“Sanctify them [purify, consecrate, separate them for Yourself, make them holy] by the Truth; Your Word is Truth” (John 17:17, AMP).

If you call yourself a Christian, then you have been sanctified and therefore are to be an instrument of Truth.

“And so for their sake and on their behalf I sanctify (dedicate, consecrate) Myself, that they also may be sanctified (dedicated, consecrated, made holy) in the Truth” (John 17:19, AMP).

Not only are we called to carry on in his Name. We are called to carry on in his Mission: the Gospel of the Kingdom.

Carry on. Carpe Diem.

Got Peace?

“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have perfect peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage, be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]” (John 16:33, AMP).

In our modern world, it is very easy to get stressed out. We can all become overloaded with deadlines, bills, and these nagging things that we know we should be getting to. We can become fatigued with what feels like a constant barrage of existence.

Here is the good news: We can have perfect peace!

Not only can we acquire it, but we are commanded to be happy! Be of good cheer today and operate from the knowledge that whatever you are facing, Christ has already conquered it.

Cultivate ORDER

“Master The Habit of Order. Order Is Simply The Accurate Arrangement of Things. Your car is parked in your garage. Your clothes hang orderly in your closet. When you increase Order, (the accurate arrangement of people and events) you increase your productivity. Plan your day carefully. Unplanned hours will always gravitate toward your weakness. Unplanned days are unproductive days. Unplanned days are incubators for your greatest mistakes.”
